DENVER (CBS4) – Rock and roll runners can look forward to another race the day before this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Half Marathon.
“It will give the people running on Sunday an opportunity to stretch their legs,” said Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon Director of Operations David Benjes.
The seventh annual musical half marathon returns to Denver on Sunday, Oct. 16. It will start and finish in Civic Center Park.
“Say you’re coming in from out of town, you’re going to be here, you’re going to take advantage of the festival or the expo, you can come and do the remix challenge, do the 5k on Saturday, do the 10k or the half marathon on Sunday… brilliant weekend,” said Benjes.
The 5k run is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15.
“It’s a challenge of doing two events during the weekend, so if they do the half marathon and the 5k collective, they get a special medal,” said Benjes.
The music theme continues for the shorter race as well.
“We will have music on the route, we will have the same sort of feel, we will have a great headliner for Saturday,” said Benjes.
Registration is open for the race. Visit runrocknroll.com/denver/ to register.
