Hit & Run That Killed Adams County Man Remains A Mystery

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A pair of sisters are pleading for help finding the hit-and-run driver who killed their brother.

Jordan Howell, 24, died from his injuries on March 21. Someone hit him as he was walking along El Paso Boulevard near Lipan Drive in Adams County. It's a residential area not far from the interchange of Interstate 25 and Highway 36. The Colorado State Patrol found no tire marks or any car debris.

Howell was waiting to enter Red Rocks Community College in the fall.

"My heart is still broken. I feel like I have lost … like my heart is not whole," said Adrienne Tsikewa, Howell's sister.

Howell's mother had just had dinner with him when his sisters say he stepped out of her car so he could walk another 15 minutes to his apartment nearby.

Adding to the mystery is his sisters don't know much about the details. It's unclear if he was walking on the sidewalk or in the street.

"I don't understand how someone can hit and just keep going … even if they were to keep going, not even call," said sister Lynne Howell.

The State Patrol believes the mystery vehicle would have damage on the right front end.

"Did he fly over the car? We just don't know," Tsikewa said. "The world lost a great person that day, he shouldn't have gone."

The sisters say the State Patrol has been looking for surveillance video and canvassing the neighborhood asking residents about the hit-and-run nobody seems to have seen.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Adams County Sheriff's Office or the Colorado State Patrol.
