CU Students Frightened After Rape Of Student By 3 Men On Campus

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A female student at the University of Colorado was attacked on campus and now police are looking for the suspects.

Many students are understandably frightened because of how close the attack reportedly happened to where so many underclassmen live.

In the middle of the night Thursday near tennis courts outside the Williams Village dorms police say three men attacked a female student. She was walking alone after a party when the men sexually assaulted her.

"That really scares me because we're told we're safe in this community," CU student Sam Rajbhandari said.

"I find it terrifying that you can't just walk back to your dorm by yourself," student Kristen Williams said.

CU police do not know much about the attackers -- ¦just basic descriptions.

"All three about medium build; all three were wearing black or dark blue hoodies. Two white and one dark skinned; we don't know their ethnicity," Scott Pribble with CU police said.

"Those are the most vague descriptions I've ever heard. They could be anybody getting off the bus. It could be anybody going to class," Williams said.

Investigators are not sure if the men are students or how long they may have been in the area. Even though the suspect descriptions are limited authorities are hoping someone may know something or simply saw men similarly dressed in the area Thursday night.

"If somebody saw them at a certain time, that would help us pinpoint at least when those people were in the area," Pribble said.

Until the attackers are caught many young students who live there are concerned for their own safety.

"That really does scare me and I think the school should do something about it," Rajbhandari said.

Investigators say they're doing everything they can to find the alleged attackers.
