DENVER (CBS4)– A man has been formally charged in a cold case sexual assault dating back nearly a decade.

The charges allege that in August 2006, Villa took a 14-year-old girl to a party where she became intoxicated and then he took her to his home and sexually assaulted her.READ MORE: Heat Waves Can Sometimes Cause Travel Problems By Air And On Land

Villa was already in custody on an unrelated matter and remains in custody on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on March 29 to be advised of the charges.
