Snow Returns To The Mountains, Westbound I-70 Closed Due To Accident
VAIL, Colo. (CBS4) - Westbound lanes of Interstate 70 just east of Vail were closed at approximately noon Monday due to an accident.
Blustery winter conditions persisted on the stretch between Vail and Copper Mountain. There is no word yet on injuries from the crash.
Eastbound lanes remained open, and all lanes were reopened by 1:20 p.m.
The traction law was put into effect for both directions between Vail and Copper, requiring passenger vehicles to have snow tires, mud/snow tires, chains, or 4 wheel drive.
