Missing Lakewood Teen Found, Tells Police She Was Abducted

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood said a missing teen girl has been found after a search that lasted several hours on Monday.

The 15-year-old called police from a Walmart store and said she had been kidnapped and assaulted.

The teen's phone was found Monday morning in Kent Knudson Park off the 12000 block of West Dakota Drive.

She goes to Lakewood High School which is off 9th Avenue and Kipling Street. She later turned up at the Walmart on Wadsworth Boulevard.

Within an hour after the girl was reported missing more than 100 law enforcement officers were on scene, including the FBI and K-9 units from neighboring counties. An Amber Alert was issued for her shortly before. It was canceled after she was located.

"Right now she is telling us that she was in fact abducted. The only description that she's given us of a possible suspect is a white or Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s dressed all in black," Steve Davis with the Lakewood Police Department said.
