DENVER (CBS4) – After nine years of coaching the Denver Pioneers, the university announced on Friday that Joe Scott won’t be back next year.

“We’d like to thank Joe for his years of service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Vice Chancellor Peg Bradley-Doppes said in a prepared statement.

The Pioneers season ended when they lost to South Dakota State in the Summit League Tournament semifinals on Monday.

DU says they will begin searching for a replacement for Scott immediately.
