Buena Vista Music Festival Permit Approved Despite Opposition

BUENA VISTA, Colo. (CBS4)- The special event permit request for a music festival outside Buena Vista was approved by the Chaffee County Commissioners on Tuesday.

The event is planned for August by Madison House Presents and will include live music and art.

Concerns over local river safety, traffic, and a lack of available infrastructure have been raised by a community members in Buena Vista and other local officials in emergency services.

Madison House Presents President Jeremy Stein released this statement regarding the permit approval: "Today is the start of something very special in Colorado, and we are excited to honor the approval we have received from the Chaffee County community. Participation in the permitting process, from many voices in the community, have created a true collaboration. We aim for this festival to be a mighty source of Colorado pride. The setting is stunning, the music will be amazing, and the art will inspire. At its core, is a community seeking fun, exploration, and common ground. This is the inauguration of a magical Summer celebration."
