Elway: Manning 'Revolutionized' The Game

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Broncos front office paid tribute to Peyton Manning on Monday morning at the quarterback's official retirement news conference.

General manager John Elway praised Manning for his incredible NFL career and for revolutionizing the game.

"Peyton Manning utilized every aspect of what God gave him to be the best football player that he could be," Elway said. "And that's the thing to me that sets him apart from anybody else."

Team president Joe Ellis said it is "a historic day for the Denver Broncos and the National Football League."

"If there is a list of achievements needed to attain greatness, you have checked every box," Ellis said from the microphone to Manning. "We could not be more proud that you chose to play for the Broncos."

"We will miss watching you play quarterback. You have been a joy," he said.
