GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)– Investigators offer a warning for people looking for work on Craigslist after a man who placed an ad was arrested.

Authorities say a suspected thief lured a man unknowingly into his crime spree after placing an ad on the website.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said Nicholas Leihy placed an ad offering cash for whoever helped him transport scrap metal and turn it in for cash.

Investigators say Leihy was stealing the metal from a business in Greeley. He is facing charges of theft and burglary.

The man who answered the ad was not charged. He told investigators he thought they had permission to remove the metal and was just trying to make extra money.
