Crews Have Hard Time Fighting House Fire In Remote Location In Edwards
EDWARDS, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators are trying to find the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Edwards.
The fire started around 10 p.m. on Monday. Firefighters had a tough time battling it because the home is in such a remote location. They had to shuttle in water because there weren't any hydrants nearby.
"A neighbor called 911 after seeing flames approximately 30 feet high emanating from the structure," the Eagle River Fire Protection District said in a statement.
The cold weather then made roads so slick it took 30 minutes for the trucks just to go roundtrip.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire.
