Snowpack Above Average Across Colorado

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Colorado's snowpack is above average around the state.

Snow levels in all basins were above 100 percent of normal on Wednesday, ranging from 128 percent in the southwestern Colorado to 103 percent in the Laramie and North Platte basin in northern Colorado.

That's still down from the end of December, when the overall snowpack was 121 of average.

But meteorologist Cory Gates told The Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction that runoff in the spring should be strong even if the state sees just average snowfall for the rest of winter.
