Broomfield Man Missing While Treasure Hunting In New Mexico

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)- Search crews are looking for a man from Broomfield who went missing while hunting for treasure in New Mexico.

Police in Santa Fe have been searching for Randy Bilyeu who was last seen in the area on Jan. 4. The 54-year-old traveled to New Mexico after reading a book about a hidden stash of coins and artifacts worth nearly $2 million.

Bilyeu's dog and an inflatable raft were found along the Rio Grande about nine miles downstream from where his 2009 Nissan Murano was located.

He was traveling alone.
