Get Ready Skiers, As Many As 3 To 6 Snowstorms Set To Hit Colorado In Days Ahead

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - Things are about to change in a hurry across Colorado after a few dry, sunny and mild days.

It's all part of an active jet stream that currently has a series of weather systems riding along it.

The first is expected to start spreading snow into Colorado's high country by Thursday night.

There are as many as 3 to 6 different storm systems lined up over the Pacific, ensuring that the weather pattern will be busy well into next week.

Why do we say as many as 3 to 6 different snowstorms?

The actual number we'll see may vary for a few reasons.

Due to the time span we are talking, the position of the jet stream could shift a bit which may result in different tracks.

There's also the potential for the intensity of each individual storm system to fluctuate.

But the bottom line is for at least the next 4 to 7 days we will be talking much more about snow and a lot less about clear blue skies.

While the mountains will take the brunt of each one of these weather systems there will be occasional chances for snow in Denver's forecast too.
