Nurse Accused Of Fondling Female Patients Has License Suspended

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Board of Nursing has suspended the license of a male registered nurse who worked in seven hospitals and medical centers across Northern Colorado and is accused of fondling female patients.

The suspension comes after CBS4's Lauren DiSpirito started asking questions about Thomas Mark Moore's past.

Fort Collins police are looking into what they call "several potential leads" of other women claiming similar incidents. Greeley police are also taking a second look at a complaint there.

Before Tuesday's reports on allegations that Moore, 43, fondled some of his patients, Greeley police say they were never told about one of two complaints lodged against Moore in their jurisdiction.

"We didn't have that report, it didn't come to us," Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych said.

Court records indicate both Fort Collins police and the state board that oversees nurses knew of one complaint that Moore inappropriately touched a female patient at the Greeley Emergency Center in April. Tymkowych says word of that report never made it to Greeley police.

"We have no record of any kind of an incident occurring again with this person as the suspect," Tymkowych said. "We checked our records."

The Greeley Police Department is aware of one allegation made against Moore in August 2014 from a woman who said five months earlier Moore groped her chest while she was in his care -- also at the Greeley Emergency Center.

"We are taking a second look at this case and the detective sergeant has asked that we do re-contact this person and see if there's any change in her decision," Tymkowych said.

At the time they suspended their investigation because the woman did not want charges pressed against Moore. If she changes her mind the case still lies within the statute of limitations.

Moore is facing one count of a felony charge of unlawful sexual contact after a woman claimed he fondled her at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.

CBS4 has repeatedly tried to contact Moore for comment be have yet to hear back from him.
