Nurse Under Arrest, Possible Victims Asked To Come Forward

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – Fort Collins sex crime detectives have released of a photo of a 43-year-old man accused of fondling a woman and are asking anyone else who feels they were victimized by him to contact them.

Thomas Mark Moore is a registered nurse. He's accused of inappropriately touching a female patient he cared for and court records show he has allegedly done the same to at least three other women in hospitals or emergency rooms.

Detectives fear there could be more victims.

Moore worked at seven medical centers and hospitals in Colorado, including facilities in Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins and Thornton between 2008 and 2015.

On Christmas Eve two years ago, a woman says Moore groped her bare chest while she was being treated at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. She told police she was on morphine at the time.

"It's really important for people to understand that it's not the victims fault, it's always the offender who is to blame and we're here to help," Kate Kimble with Fort Collins Police Services said.

Kimble says the alleged victim at Poudre Valley Hospital felt embarrassed and didn't come forward until nearly two years later. According to Moore's arrest affidavit, he sent her a Facebook friend request after she was released from the hospital.

While investigating that allegation, detectives found evidence of a pattern.

"He's worked at a number of different hospitals over the years, so right now we really want to get the message out and let people know that if this has happened to them to please come forward," Kimble said.

Three more women have since come forward saying Moore touched them inappropriately.

Although University of Colorado Health fired Moore last June when they found out about the alleged incident and reported it, he found work at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton one month later. CBS4 questioned the medical center's background check process and if they knew of Moore's employment record, but those questions have not been answered.

Moore has a record that includes a guilty finding for misdemeanor child abuse back in 2011. He has also worked at hospitals in Nebraska and Texas.
