1 Seriously Injured After Getting Hit By Light Rail Train In Downtown Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - A person has been hospitalized with serious injuries after getting hit by a light rail train in downtown Denver Monday afternoon.

According to police, just after 2:30 p.m. the male victim was struck by a train at the light rail stop located at 20th and Welton streets. Police said it appears the victim was standing on the platform and fell.

The victim suffered "head trauma," according to police.

The D Line train from 20th and Welton to Downing Street was not running due to the accident. A bus bridge was put in place between Downing and 18th and California.
