Police Search For Robbery, Shooting Suspects

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Westminster searched for two suspects wanted in a home invasion, robbery and shooting connected to a marijuana grow operation at a home.

Police say about 3 a.m. Tuesday, officers rushed to the residence in the 7400 block of Julian Street. When they arrived they found a 73-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man told officers he was asleep when two males broke into the home and woke him up. The victim is from out of state and was in town for a model train convention, visiting friends, when the home invasion happened.

He told police both suspects were wearing masks at the time of the shooting.

Officers found a large marijuana grow and hash operation at the residence and believe this may be the motive behind the robbery and shooting.

The victim will undergo surgery and is expected to survive his injuries.
