Colorado Kids Help Children From Refugee Families
DENVER (CBS4)- Some kids in Colorado helped children from refugee families who fled violence in the Middle East.
On Saturday, dozens of children helped wrap toys for refugee families at the Central Park Recreation Center in Stapleton. They also learned about the refugees, their journey and struggle.
"I think as a parent you're just wanting to find ways to instill compassion in your kids and to open their eyes to the world around them and that a lot of the things that you have, maybe not take them for granted," said Kids Compassion Project Co-founder Erin Oltersdorf.
The Kids Compassion Project wrapped nearly 200 donated toys on Saturday.
