Air Force Holds Off The Citadel, 97-93 In High-Scoring Game
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Trevor Lyons scored 22 points and Hayden Graham added another 20 as Air Force used 55.2 percent shooting from the field to take down The Citadel, 97-93 Wednesday night.
Derrick Henry and P.J. Boutte both hit 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds to gouge into the Falcons' lead.
The Bulldogs (5-3) took a 6-point lead at the break, 41-35, but Lyons put Air Force (5-2) ahead, 51-49 on a layup with 15:58 remaining, and Zach Moer made it a 10-point lead, 87-77 when he got to the rim for a layup with 2:47 left.
Boutte hit a pair of 3-pointers and Warren Sledge and Henry each knocked down one for The Citadel in the final 1:46, but Lyons made a pair of free throws and Graham added two layups to preserve the win.
Sledge finished with 18 points. Henry added 16 off the bench to lead The Citadel.
