Woman's First Time Ever Seeing Snow: 'It Was Pretty Awesome'

FRISCO, Colo. (CBS4) - The latest round of snow was good for the high country where mountain towns rely on winter tourism.

Larry Pierce sent CBS4 pictures from the Steamboat Ski Resort. The resort will open earlier than expected this weekend thanks to all the fresh powder.

Snow started falling again Tuesday evening in Frisco where a lot of people are in town to hit the slopes at all the surrounding resorts.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews were working hard all day Tuesday to keep the Interstate 70 mountain corridor open for all the skiers and boarders heading into the mountains to enjoy the fresh snow.

CBS4's Matt Kroschel caught up to one Breckenridge visitor who said it was her first time ever seeing snow.

"It was pretty awesome. We stayed in Breckenridge, so it was about 20 inches of snow, so it was my first time seeing snow and it was pretty awesome," she said.

Any amount of snow is really a positive for mountain towns.
