Homicide Victim Found Along I-76 Identified, Search For Killer Continues

MORGAN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The homicide victim was found along Interstate 76 in Morgan County has been identified as Jose Manriquez. The search for his killer continued Monday morning.

Manriquez, 23, was also known as Jose Jaquez and may have gone by the name "Peppy." Manriquez lived with his mother and younger brother in Adams County near Federal Boulevard north of I-76.

His body was dumped along the highway near the town of Brush. He was found Saturday morning.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said he may have been last seen Friday night in a bar near 65th and Federal Boulevard.

Investigators believe Manriquez was shot to death at an unknown location and then his body dumped on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of I-76 at mile marker 85 about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
