Landeskog To Miss 2 Games After Illegal Check In Boston
DENVER (CBS4) - The NHL announced Friday afternoon that Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will be suspended for two games after what they say was "an illegal check to the head" during Thursday night's 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.
Landeskog put the hit on Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins in the second period. Referees said it was a deliberate attempt to injure Marchand, who got up right afterwards and delivered a punch to Landeskog's face.
Marchand was fined $5,000 for roughing for the punch.
