COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)– A family who lives in Black Forest near Colorado Springs is hoping for answers after their service dog in training was shot to death.
Saphira vanished Oct. 27 in the Black Forest neighborhood. Her family searched for 10 days and then eventually found her dead in the corner of their yard.
They believe someone targeted Saphira.
“When we found her her body was outstretched kind of like she was wrong and it hurt on the shoulder it was definitely meant to kill her it was not an accident,” said Saphira’s owner Jennifer Lind.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
