Shots Fired In Possible Road Rage Case In Park Hill

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police are investigating a possible act of road rage in the city's Park Hill neighborhood on Monday.

A driver allegedly opened fire on another driver East 23rd Avenue at Holly Street.

When CBS4's Jennifer Brice was in the area, Victor Pate's children were raking leaves feet from where the road rage incident happened outside their home at 9:45 a.m. He says they didn't hear any gunshots but are surprised it happened so close to home.

"People are crazy these days," said Pate. "People need to calm down."

Police say the suspect's car first hit the victim's car from behind while headed eastbound on East 23rd Avenue, then fired a shot as it passed by. It is unclear what sparked the road rage. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect vehicle is a white Chevy Impala, and the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s. He was last seen at Ivanhoe Street and East 23rd Avenue.

Sam Jefferson lives nearby. He says road rage, sadly, is a sign of the time.

"You never know what the other guy has got in his car and if you aggravate a person that's already aggravated, there's nothing but trouble brewing there."
