DENVER (CBS4) – Less than 24 hours after a deadly shooting in the historic Baker Neighborhood of Denver, police released a picture of the suspected gunman.
The shooting happened just before midnight Friday, near West Bayaud Avenue and South Bannock Street in Denver’s historic Baker Neighborhood.
Police said that one person was shot and killed, and another was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center with critical injuries. Two other shooting victims walked into the hospital.
Police believe that Darius Eugene Ratcliff, 19, was the gunman. Ratcliff is described as a black male, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, black hair with brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Ratcliff for first-degree murder.
Neighbors told CBS4 that they heard rapid gunfire.
“Pop, pop … there were like two [shots] at first,” said Tom Mesaros, who was at home when the shots rang out. “And then I heard a series of about five or six [shots] more, and I realized that those were not firecrackers. Those were gunshots.”
