Skimmer Found On Gas Pump At Conoco In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police officers found and removed a skimmer device at a gas station and aren't sure how long it was in place.

The device was found last Thursday on gas pump No. 1 at the Conoco on Baranmor Parkway and Peoria Street.

Anyone who used the gas pump is urged to check their credit card for suspicious activity,

Skimming is a method used by criminals to capture data from the magnetic stripe on the back of an ATM or credit card.

If you used this gas pump and found suspicious activity on your credit cards up until that date you can complete an online police report using this link: https://www.auroragov.org/…/Publ…/Police/MakeanOnlineReport, or call Fraud Intake Officer Larson at 303-739-6176. Y

You do not need to make a report or call the Fraud Intake Officer if you do NOT have suspicious activity on your credit card and have used this gas pump. You should also monitor your credit card activity closely, and notify your financial institutions immediately if you find suspicious activity.
