Attempted Robbery Suspect Captured On Security Video

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - Deputies in Larimer County hope someone will come forward with information about an attempted robbery suspect that was clearly captured on video tape.

Deputies were called to The Hazy Hippo located at 3070 West Eisenhower Boulevard in unincorporated Larimer County just before 11 a.m. on Oct. 20. The victim said the suspect entered the store, gathered several items -- including a metal baton-- and approached the counter.

That's when the suspect threatened the victim with the baton and ordered him to the ground. The victim defended himself by pointing a firearm at the suspect and the suspect got into a vehicle and drove off.

Deputies searched the area but didn't find the suspect. He is described as an Hispanic male in his late teens with short dark hair, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and 150-160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and dark pants.

Surveillance video captured the suspect walking around the store.

Deputies say it was later revealed that the suspect got away in a vehicle driven by another person. The suspect vehicle was described as a gold 1990s model 4-door sedan with dark tinted rear windows and possible front end damage. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on West Eisenhower Boulevard.
