Colorado Secretary Of State Warns Against Mailing Ballots

DENVER (AP) — Secretary of State Wayne Williams is recommending that voters who haven't mailed in their ballots yet deliver them in person instead.

Williams says that several county clerks have expressed concern that the U.S. Postal Service didn't deliver their ballots in a timely manner. So he suggests voters either drop off their ballots with their county clerk or use another county drop-off location before 7 p.m. Tuesday rather than putting them in the mail at this point.

Last year, a judge ruled that county clerks could not count ballots that arrive after 7 p.m. on Election Day.
