Driver Who Plowed Into Kmart Causing Injuries To Face Charges

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - A driver who crashed his minivan through the wall of a Kmart in Arvada Tuesday afternoon will be facing some charges.

The 41-year-old man, whose name hasn't been released, hit the wall at a high rate of speed and the vehicle hit two female employees inside the store. One was seriously injured.

Witnesses say it sounded like an explosion.

"What I heard sounded like an explosion. This huge sound. Employees were running out the door," said Lenny DeWitt, who was at a nearby King Soopers. "They (employees) didn't know what happened. They thought it was an explosion. Terror bomb some people thought."

The driver was also taken to the hospital. Jill McGranahan with Arvada Police said he will face some charges and his name will be released sometime on Wednesday.

The names of the two employee who were injured also haven't been released.

Firefighters patched up the damage to the store.
