Police Need Help Identifying Man Who Burglarized Restaurant

DENVER (CBS4) - Dol Bhattarai has been having a stretch of bad luck. Someone crashed into his car. Then last Sunday at 2 a.m. his luck took another bad turn -- his restaurant was burglarized.

The burglary was captured on surveillance video. It shows a man prying open the front door. Two minutes later he was out the door after ripping out the cash register. Bhattarai told CBS4's Howard Nathan the alarm failed to work because of a problem with the wiring.

The burglar needed just three minutes to steal $700. Some of it belonged to his employees in the form of tips.

Bhattarai is an immigrant from Nepal. His restaurant, the Yak and Yeti, is on East Hampden in Denver. He learned how to operate an Indian cuisine restaurant from working for one in Boulder. He now runs three restaurants in the Denver Metro area featuring food from India, Nepal and Tibet.

He's upset about the money being stolen, but he told Nathan he wants the criminal caught so no one else is robbed like him.
