Help Low-Income Kids Stay Dressed At The 'Blue Jean Bash'

DENVER (CBS4) - The Blue Jean Bash, a fundraising event for Clothes to Kids of Denver, is happening next Saturday. It's an organization that provides new and quality used clothing in a store-like setting to school children from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro area.

Joyce Meyers and Jo Ann Wickens, co-chairs of the event, stopped by CBS4 studios to talk about the event that is sponsored by CBS4.

"We are a great charity that supplies clothing to children in need in the Denver metro area," Wickens said.

The Blue Jean Bash raised more than $100,000 last year for Clothes to Kids of Denver.

"The fundraiser will help us raise the funds necessary to get the clothing items that we need that maybe aren't donated because we do accept gently used clothing and new clothing," Meyers said.

CBS4's Rick Sallinger will emcee the event that includes a silent auction and live music. There will be trips to Italy and Napa being auctioned off.

"With wonderful wine tasting and wine tours, a chance to make your own wine." Meyers said.

"We also have some wonderful food stations, some wonderful food partners providing food for us," Wickens said.

The Blue Jean Bash is this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the EXDO Center. Visit the Clothes to Kids of Denver website for more information.
