2 Women Found Dead In SUV In Frying Pan River

BASALT, Colo. (CBS4) - Two women from Columbus, Ohio are dead after an apparent car accident in Eagle County.

The crash happened Saturday in the Frying Pan River near Basalt.

The women had been on a sightseeing tour through Colorado. A cyclist spotted their SUV underwater Saturday afternoon. The women's bodies were inside.

The victims have been identified as 64-year-old Kristina Herron and 71-year-old Yvonne Honeybrink. Their vehicle went down a steep embankment about 70 feet before plunging into the river.

Nobody witnessed the crash and investigators aren't sure when or how it happened.
