Minnesota Woman Celebrates Newborn's Advances After Twin's Death

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The Minnesota woman who gave birth to conjoined twins where one died shortly after is celebrating the advances her surviving twin is making.

Amber McCullough delivered the twin girls, Hannah and Olivia, by cesarean section at the Children's Hospital last month. Doctors had to immediately separate them due to the severity of their heart condition. Olivia did not survive.

McCullough posted on the Hannah and Olivia McCullough GoFundMe Page an update about Hannah and how she is improving. She finally was able to hold her little girl after 16 days. Hannah had her breathing tube removed but still wears a tube for the CPAP machine which helps her get the oxygen she needs.

McCullough also posted a picture of her holding Hannah and her thanks, "Again thank you for all of the support and prayers! All of you helped make this possible through prayer!!!! I believe that with all my heart and will be forever grateful."

She also discussed setting up a memorial fund in Olivia's name for Children's Hospital of Colorado Maternal Fetal Medicine Department.
