Trial To Begin For Former Detective Accused Of Warning Suspect About Sex Abuse Sting
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The trial for a former Boulder detective accused of interfering with a child sex abuse sting starts on Monday.
Jack Gardner is charged with accessory to Internet luring of a child, official misconduct and interfering with government operations.
Last spring Gardner was working undercover pretending to be a 13-year-old girl. He was corresponding with a 27-year-old man named Kahlil Peckham but investigators say Gardner was upset he wasn't more involved in the case. Before the sting happened he allegedly warned Peckham not to show up.
Peckham pleaded guilty to felony sexual exploitation of a child and invasion of privacy for sexual gratification.
