I-70 Expansion Could Ease Traffic Congestion In Mountains

EMPIRE, Colo. (CBS4)- An expansion along a 13-mile stretch of Interstate 70 could ease traffic congestion in the high country.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says the Mountain Express Toll Lane could open as early as December.

The third lane along I-70 runs for 13 miles between Empire and Idaho Springs.

The toll could cost between $3 and $30 depending on traffic. The lane will be open to drivers on weekends and holidays.
