DENVER (CBS4) – Ninety-nine years ago Wednesday the Emily Griffith School in Denver started helping young people find their way into good solid jobs and the foundation that supports the school picked a beautiful place to celebrate the anniversary.
They were in the Governor’s Mansion to talk about women and workforce education. The school has helped many folks get jobs and create great futures.
Denver Health has hired many over the years.
“Oh I think it’s everything. People see the potential of getting a start. They’re able to progress through a variety of career tracks that Emily Griffith has always offered,” Olga Garcia with Denver Health said. “But now they’ve become more innovative in looking at today’s workplace and the needs of today’s workplace.”
Emily Griffith High School is an alternative school focused on retrieving students 17 to 20 who left high school before earning a diploma. It offers courses toward a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
