Avalanche Acquire Gormley For Coyotes For Elliott

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona Coyotes traded defenseman Brandon Gormley to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday for defenseman Stefan Elliott.

The 23-year-old Gormley appeared in 27 games with the Coyotes last season, finishing with two goals and two assists. He has played in 32 NHL games since Arizona selected him with the 13th overall pick in 2010.

The 24-year-old Elliott played five games for the Avalanche in 2014-15. He had 19 goals and 21 assists in 64 games with Lake Erie of the AHL. Elliott has appeared in 63 career NHL games, with six goals and 12 assists.
