Taste Offers Variety Of Food, Live Music, Entertainment

DENVER (CBS4)- Labor Day weekend is officially underway and downtown Denver is the place to be to find great food, entertainment and unique booths during the Taste of Colorado.

More than 500,000 people are expected to attend the Taste at Civic Center Park through Monday.

The event features dozens of food vendors from across the state including Spice Island Grill out of Colorado Springs.

"Been in the restaurant business for four years and it's just amazing. We do jerk chicken, jerk pork... you name it," said the owner of Spice Island Grill.

There are also several bands that will take the stage including Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers.

The event is free but those who want to try the food will have to buy tickets.

The hours are Saturday & Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are several road closures throughout downtown Denver during the Taste.
