Peyton Manning: 'I Want To Keep Playing As Long As I Can Play Well'

DENVER (CBS4) - It's well-known that most of the Denver Broncos starters won't be playing Thursday night, and that includes Peyton Manning. And yet, fans always want to know how long does Manning plan on playing?

Manning is under contract for two more seasons, and despite his age and the numbness in his fingers -- and his ever-growing pizza empire -- Manning wants to play professional football for as long as he possibly can.

He said as much in an interview on ESPN.

"I want to keep playing as long as I can play well, I can help the team, I enjoy it and I'm healthy enough to play it," Manning said. "So I hope to be doing the same interview with you next year."

The Broncos get their final tune-up of the preseason Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
