DENVER (CBS4) – A powerful storm swept through parts of Colorado Monday evening, causing severe street flooding on the west side of Colorado Springs.

Muddy water washed away cars and everything else in its path. No one was hurt.

One of the many people who got stranded on the roads in Colorado Springs was a man who had to escape through his sunroof.

West of there, in Manitou Springs, video shows how close the water came to flooding a spa. A small amount of water collected on the floor, but it raged down the sidewalk and stairs outside.

Closer to Denver, heavy rain and hail pelted Highlands Ranch.
