Man Accused In Fatal Hit & Run Crash Involving 6 Vehicles Charged With 1st-Degree Murder
DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused in a fatal hit-and-run last Monday has been formally charged.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Ricardo Gardea, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of vehicular homicide, and several other charges.
"The charges allege that in the early morning hours of Aug. near West 44th Avenue and Federal Boulevard, Gardea was driving while under the influence of marijuana and alcohol when he caused a fatal crash resulting in the death of 21-year-old Sebastian Evridge," Kimbrough said in a statement. "He then fled the scene of the crash and was arrested nearby a short time later."
Gardea remains in custody. He's being held without bond. His next court date has not been set.
