Man Dead, 2 Women Hurt In Shooting In Parking Lot

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A man is dead and two women were injured after a shooting that appears to have taken place in an Aurora parking lot.

The shooting happened at approximately 2 a.m. Friday near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Havana Street.

The lot is an overflow parking lot of McDonough's Irish Pub, but police have not been able to say whether the crime started with a confrontation in the bar or what a motive may be.

The women who were shot were shot in the leg and the shoulder and are expected to recover.

The crime scene was covered in evidence markers at one time which included liquor bottles , bullet casings , clothing and shoes.

"It's tragic when someone loses their life. No matter what the circumstances were that led up to the shooting. It's tragic when someone is injured and or loses their life. Someone lost a brother -- lost a family member, lost a son. So it's a tragic moment and we're trying to figure out what happened," said Aurora police spokeswoman Officer Judy Lutkin.

Police have not said anything about a possible suspect.
