Troopers: Teen Driver Died In Wrong-Way Crash On I-25
BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)- Colorado State Troopers said an 18-year-old driver was going the wrong way on Interstate 25 when she crashed head-on into a pickup and was killed.
The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of I-25 just north of Highway 7.
Troopers said the woman driving a 2007 silver Kia Rio struck a 1994 Toyota Tacoma truck head-on which caused a chain reaction crash with a Freightliner box truck and a Ford Escape.
Troopers aren't sure where the driver of the Kia started driving southbound in the northbound lanes on I-25.
The 18-year-old driver of the Kia did not survive. Her identity has not been released.
The driver of the Tacoma, Francisco Garcia of Thornton, suffered minor injuries.
Troopers are investigating whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.

Troopers want to talk to the person who took video of the crash. That person is asked to contact Trooper Dusty Kraft by calling CSP dispatch at (303) 239-4501. That person was released from the scene prior to CSP's arrival and we would like to speak with them in an attempt to determine more facts.
