Man Found In Animas River Identified
DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4)- The man who was found in the Animas River and later died has been identified.
Rayford Begaye was from Grants, New Mexico.
The La Plata County Coroner said they don't know why Begaye, 26, or when he went into the river.
Some rafters found Begaye unresponsive about 3 p.m. on Thursday in the river and stopped to perform CPR. Medics responded and he was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Police said there was no indication of foul play.
Several people have died this year after being found in the Animas River.
