Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Attack On Man

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Loveland arrested a woman after she allegedly attacked a man with a knife and left him with repeated stab wounds.

Officers rushed to 2150 W. 15th Street on reports of a stabbing about 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday. The caller reported that a 45-year-old Loveland man had been repeatedly stabbed and then was driven to the medical center by a witness.

Officers investigated the scene and then went to McKee Medical Center to interview the victim.

Investigators determined the man was at home when an acquaintance, Bernadette Vasquez, 37, came to the victim's home and knocked on his door. When he answered, Vasquez took a knife and stabbed him repeatedly.

A neighbor heard the attack and intervened by telling Vasquez to stop. The neighbor then took the victim to his home and bandaged his wounds before he was taken to the hospital.

Vasquez apparently returned to her home, a nearby apartment, where police arrested her.

Vasquez was booked at the Loveland Police Department and transported to the Larimer County Jail where she remains in custody on attempted murder in the first degree and first-degree assault.
