Investigators believe 60-year-old Glenn Martin was likely shot by accident by a high-powered rifle while camping in the Rainbow Falls Park area of the Pike National Forest on Friday.

Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Ron Hanavan says numerous people were shooting in the area that day and some may be worried that they may have fired the fatal shot.

He didn't have an estimate of the number of shooters nearby. He says investigators are trying to determine who was shooting based on people who have stepped forward to volunteer information.
