2 Formally Charged In Murder At Denver Motel
DENVER (CBS4) - A man and a woman accused of murdering a 30-year-old woman at a motel in Denver two weeks ago have been formally charged.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Brandon Foote, 29, has been charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary for the shooting that occurred on June 25.
Marita Curry-Swanson, 35, has been charged with first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary.
"Officers from the Denver Police Department responded to a report of several shots fired at the Sage and Sand Motel at 8415 East Colfax Avenue. They found the victim, Camille Harrell, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," Kimbrough said in a statement.
Harrell was later pronounced dead.
"The charges allege that Foote and Curry broke into the motel room of the victim's sister, engaged in a confrontation with the victim and her sister, and that Foote shot and killed the victim," Kimbrough said.
Both Foote and Curry-Swanson remain in custody. They are being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday to be advised of the charges.
