DA's Office: Woman 'Scratched & Kicked 2 Officers As She Resisted Arrest'

DENVER, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman who police say assaulted two Denver police officers outside of a bar last weekend has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Brittany Thomas, 27, has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault on a peace officer and one count of resisting arrest.

"Thomas was with a group of people loitering in the 1400 block of North Uinta Street on June 26 and tried to flee when responding officers found she had a warrant out for her arrest," Kimbrough said in a statement. "The charges allege that Thomas scratched and kicked two officers as she resisted arrest."

Thomas remains in custody on a $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court next Monday to be formally advised of the charges.
