DENVER (CBS4) – Tennis great Ivan Lendl’s daughter Daniela Lendl has been named the assistant coach of the University of Denver’s women’s golf team, the university announced on Monday.

Lendl is a recent graduate from the University of Alabama. Her resume includes being a member of the 2012 National Champion Alabama team.

“Daniela is so passionate and energetic about competing in the game of golf and is just what the Denver women’s golf program looks for to join its family,” DU women’s golf head coach Lindsay Kuhle said, according to denverpioneers.com. “Our team is a family first and has shared interests and priorities among the coaching staff and team members.”

“I am excited for the opportunity to join the Denver women’s golf program this fall,” Lendl said. “I look forward to working with Coach Kuhle to help DU become a National Championship contender in the near future.”

Lendl will join the Pioneers on Aug. 24.
